Sheet Metal Fabricators are responsible for the setup, operation and adjustment of various fabrication machines such as saws, shears, punch presses, press brakes, and grinders, to shape and alter sheet metal according to customer specifications.Â

Operate the saw and shear, may operate other CNC sheet metal fabrication machinery such as the CNC turret punch, router, press brakes, and lasers to saw, cut, shear, punch, bend, or straighten sheet metal or other parts and materialÂ
Perform setups or adjustments according to program directives, using shims, blocks, supports, and fixtures to ensure proper alignment of parts.Â
Determine project requirements, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerances using blueprints, drawings, work orders or written or verbal instructionsÂ
Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material, using calculators, dividers, squares, or rulersÂ
Measure and inspect completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulersÂ
Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work areaÂ
Follows directions consistently and accepts responsibility for actions and work productÂ
Complies with applicable manufacturing processes, work procedures, and supervisor instructionsÂ
Adheres to safety guidelines and procedures; proactively identifies job hazards and collaborates with leadership to minimize hazards and ensure employee safetyÂ
Performs other job-related duties as assignedÂ
Regular attendance on-site at the workplace is requiredÂ
Level II may provide training to level I operators.Â

Required Education and Work ExperienceÂ
High School diploma or GED equivalent is requiredÂ
Experience requirements vary based on position level. The posted salary range reflects a broad range inclusive of Level I and II positions. Compensation will be determined based on experience. A minimum of one (1) year experience in a production/manufacturing role requiring the use of hand tools and material-handling equipment is preferred; recent vocational training in a metal-working or other technical role may be considered in lieu of work experienceÂ
Higher experience levels are required for placement at Level IIÂ

Other Required Skills and AbilitiesÂ
Experience reading and accurately interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, work orders and customer specifications is required
Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulersÂ
Experience using powered electric and/or pneumatic hand tools including grinders or sanders is preferredÂ
Aerospace manufacturing experience is preferredÂ
