As a Shear Operator, you'll operate industrial shear equipment to cut metal sheets to precise specifications that support the production of quality components for leading manufacturers. You'll work with forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment while helping keep materials moving and production running efficiently.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys working with equipment, solving problems, and being part of a team that builds something every day.

Shifts Available:

  • Shift 14: 2:00pm – 12:00am, Monday – Thursday (+$1.25/hour shift differential)

Starting Rate of Pay:

  • $19.80 per hour base rate. Candidates with relevant experience may be eligible for base pay up to $20.80 per hour.
What You'll Do
  • Operate shear equipment to cut material according to job specifications
  • Monitor cutting processes and inspect finished pieces for quality and accuracy
  • Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain proper dimensions and tolerances
  • Safely move materials using forklifts and overhead cranes
  • Unload trucks and organize raw materials to support production flow

Requirements

  • 6–12 months of relevant manufacturing or material handling experience preferred
  • Ability to read and follow job instructions within an ERP system
  • Experience using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
  • Ability to safely operate or learn to operate forklifts and overhead cranes
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks based on production needs

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move throughout the shift in a production environment
  • Frequent handling of metal materials and scrap
  • Ability to lift and move materials as needed up to 100lbs
  • Work performed in a manufacturing setting with exposure to moving equipment
  • Required PPE: eye protection, hearing protection, MET guard safety shoes
