Job description

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Social Media & Content Operations Intern to join our dynamic marketing team for the fall semester. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency of our content workflow, the accuracy of our performance reporting, and the smooth execution of our social calendars and influencer partnerships. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to gain hands-on experience in the strategic, logistical, and analytical side of digital marketing by directly assisting the Social Media Manager.

Key Responsibilities

The Social Media and Content Operations Intern will support the Social Media Manager through four primary areas:

1. Performance Reporting & Analysis

  • Assist in tracking and compiling weekly and monthly performance reports for all social channels (including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Assist in monitoring and analyzing key metrics (e.g., engagement rate, reach, conversion) to show how social media activity contributes to established business objectives and goals.
  • Help prepare visual summaries and key takeaways to communicate performance results to the wider marketing team.

2. Social Calendar Scheduling & Content Ops

  • Own the day-to-day maintenance and organization of the cross-platform social media content calendar, ensuring timely scheduling and publishing across channels.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to align scheduling with upcoming brand campaigns, product drops, and promotional initiatives.
  • Assist in researching competitor activity and industry best practices to identify new formats, features, and content opportunities to test.

3. Influencer & Content Creator Acquisition & Support

  • Assist the Social Media Manager in identifying, vetting, and onboarding new content creators and brand advocates.
  • Support creator campaign logistics, including product ordering, timely fulfillment, contract tracking, and shipment monitoring.
  • Help manage ongoing creator relationships through responsive day-to-day communication, asset intake, organization, and adherence to naming conventions.
  • Track and report on the performance metrics of individual creator posts to assess partnership effectiveness and inform future strategies.

4. Content Ideation & Strategy

  • Actively participate in brainstorming sessions, contributing original ideas for organic and paid social content that aligns with brand messaging and current trends.
  • Support the creative team by collaborating on briefs for new content concepts and trending video formats.
  • Help monitor social listening channels and emerging trends to summarize actionable insights for the team.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

    • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
    • Proven interest in social media platforms, influencer marketing ecosystems, and digital content creation.
    • Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on attention to detail, time management, and the ability to maintain content calendars.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for basic data entry, tracking, and reporting.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Familiarity with social media scheduling and analytics tools such as Sprout Social, Later, or Meta Business Suite (a plus, but not required).
