Primary Function:
The Engineering Intern will be utilized for LEAN manufacturing processes, updating facility drawings, technical writing of Ampacet processes and procedures, and selectively for capital improvement projects.
Responsibilities:
- Building and documenting LEAN manufacturing processes with local team
- Technical writing of work instructions and safety procedures
- Will use CAD/SolidWorks tools to create Plant Drawings, Facility Flow (how the utilities are laid out), Electrical Drawings, Sub-Assembly Drawings, Part Drawings, Production Layout Drawings
- Assisting Maintenance Manager with project management
- Communicating and confirming project deadlines
- Providing project progress reports
- Responsibility level will progress with experience
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have completed at least one year of college in Industrial Engineering or a related program
- Experience with CAD 2D/3D
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
- Technical writing experience
- Project management experience
- Must be safety conscious, adaptable, and dependable
- Must be a self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision
- Demonstrates exceptional teamwork
- Possesses high levels of motivation and optimism with an action orientation
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, organization skills, and problem solving skills
- Must be comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3rd or 4th year college student pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering
Part-Time, expected to last 6 - 12 months.
