Job Summary

The IT Corporate Solutions group (CSG) at HOOPP is currently looking for a co-op student that is enthusiastic, collaborative and highly motivated to help us build and configure software and systems that support our core business functions. This position will be with our CSG Corporate Operations and Risk team (CSG COR). The CSG COR team supports multiple business areas at HOOPP, including Internal Communications, Risk, Facilities, Business Continuity Management, and Board Operations.

Working in a highly dynamic and agile team environment, you will learn the latest technologies and development practices, gain hands-on exposure to the pension Industry, and help make a major difference in the lives of over 500,000 current and future pensioners in our community. You will write code that will be quickly deployed to production, and that will help staff streamline their work and provide better service to their customers.

What you will do:

  • Writing production code

  • Collaborating and working closely with your fellow Developers (who may have Business Analyst, Developer or Tester backgrounds)

  • Writing and maintaining tests

  • Maintaining build/deployment/development tools

  • Providing and receiving inputs on system design and code

  • Current technologies used: SharePoint Online, Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft Azure Services (Functions, SQL, Data Factory),Visual Studio, VSTS, C# and AI technologies.

What you will bring:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program

  • Knowledge of object-oriented languages (C#, Java, C++, or similar), and/or JavaScript

  • Knowledge of PowerShell or similar scripting language

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and/or other cloud computing platforms

  • Passion for programming combined with the constant desire to learn, share and apply new skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work well in a dynamic and fast-moving team-based environment

  • High enthusiasm, self-starter and urgency to get things done

The expected hourly rate range for this role is $21.00 to $31.00

The actual hourly rate offered to the successful candidate may vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, individual's expertise and level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered.
