Job description

Job Title: Android Developer with Flutter

Location: Woonsocket, RI

Duration: Contract

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Android Developer with Flutter experience and 10+ years of overall experience to join our team in Woonsocket, RI.

You'll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining high-quality Android applications using modern architecture patterns and the latest Android development tools, while also contributing to cross-platform development using Flutter.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and Java Design, develop, and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using Flutter and Dart Implement clean, scalable architecture using MVVM/MVI patterns Build modern, responsive UIs using Jetpack Compose and Flutter widgets Integrate REST APIs and/or GraphQL services (Retrofit) to support app functionality

Manage local data persistence using Room or SQLite Leverage Kotlin Coroutines and Flow to handle asynchronous operations efficiently Apply Dependency Injection frameworks (Hilt, Dagger, or Koin) to maintain modular, testable code Write and maintain unit and UI tests (JUnit, Espresso, or Robolectric) to ensure app quality and reliability Evaluate and advise on Android vs. Flutter approaches for new features, balancing native performance needs with cross-platform efficiency Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, QA, backend) throughout the development lifecycle Use Git/GitHub for version control, code reviews, and collaborative development Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical/architectural decisions

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Android development
  • Proficiency in Kotlin and Java
  • Hands-on professional experience building and shipping apps with Flutter and Dart
  • Experience with MVVM/MVI architectural patterns
  • Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose for modern UI development
  • Knowledge of Dependency Injection frameworks (Hilt, Dagger, or Koin)
  • Experience integrating REST APIs using Retrofit or GraphQL
  • Familiarity with local data persistence using Room or SQLite
  • Strong understanding of Kotlin Coroutines and Flow for asynchronous operations
