Job description

This role focuses on designing and optimizing natural gas liquefaction (LNG) processes and proprietary LNG equipment. Key responsibilities include performing advanced process simulations, conducting thermal design of coil wound heat exchangers, and analyzing relief and depressurization scenarios to ensure safe and efficient operation. The position also supports plant startups, performance testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The engineer collaborates with multidisciplinary teams across commercial, project management, mechanical design, manufacturing, machinery, R&D, and startup functions to execute projects successfully and enhance products and processes. Additional responsibilities include participating in P&ID reviews and HAZOP studies to ensure safety, operability, and design integrity. The role requires approximately 10-15% domestic and international travel to client offices, contractor locations, and plant sites.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in chemical engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with process simulation software.
  • Demonstrated expertise in chemical engineering principles and practices.
  • Solid understanding of LNG thermodynamics and cryogenic processes, Process control and instrumentation, and Compressor dynamics and anti-surge control.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

WE VALUE

  • 8+ years of experience in LNG liquefaction, cryogenic technology, or chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in process design and start-up on large capital projects.

  • Ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Passion for safety, sustainability, and compliance.
  • Advanced Engineering degrees such as MS, ME or PhD in Chemical Engineering.

  • Domestic and international travel to clients' offices, contractors, and plant sites expected about 10-15 percent of the time.
