Job description

Manulife's Experience Office is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to help design, build, and enhance innovative solutions that deliver exceptional customer and partner experiences. As part of a fast-paced Agile team, you will work across the full software development lifecycle, creating scalable applications, APIs, and data solutions while driving continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support full-stack business applications.
  • Build and maintain scalable APIs, web applications, and data solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and estimation activities.
  • Promote engineering best practices, code quality, automation, and CI/CD.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative digital solutions.
  • Perform technical investigations and proof-of-concepts to mitigate risks.
  • Mentor and coach team members while contributing to a high-performing engineering culture.
  • Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and support materials.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of software development experience.
  • Strong expertise in C#/.NET development, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
  • Advanced SQL Server experience, including complex queries, joins, stored procedures, and relational database design.
  • Experience developing with REST APIs, Web API, MVC, and modern web frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native development using Azure and/or PCF.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Agile/Scrum practices, and automated testing.
  • Experience in Banking, Financial Services or Insurance
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with .NET Core, Python, or Java Spring Boot.
  • Knowledge of Airflow, CA WA, ETL processes, and Informatica.
  • Experience with Power BI, Spotfire, Datawatch, or other visualization tools.
  • Exposure to streaming technologies such as Tibco StreamBase.

Salary range is expected to be between

$113,000.00 CAD - $163,000.00 CAD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
