Position Title:Senior Software Engineer
Position Type: Full-time, On-site
Location: Dayton, OH
Clearance: Active TS/SCI
Description:
Waypoint's client is seeking a driven, detail-oriented Software Engineer to support the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), performing software activities focused on assisting the Air Force move forward with digital transformation. Successful candidates will have strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement new capabilities and custom software solutions to solve unique government customer problems
  • Follow best practices to write well-tested, high performing code
  • Identify and resolve issues found in existing code
  • Integrate capabilities with external services and tools
  • Participate in code reviews and mentor team members
  • Communicate status and technical details with customers

Required:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant STEM field
  • 12 + years experience writing, maintaining, debugging, and testing code
  • Experience with RESTful web services
  • Experience with server-side languages, preference toward Golang, NodeJS, and/or Python
  • Experience with frontend JavaScript frameworks, preference toward Angular and Vue
  • Experience with version control software (e.g., Git)
  • Experience with bug/issue tracking software such as JIRA
  • Ability to communicate technical details of work
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and take ownership for segments of a project
  • Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills
  • Open, team-oriented, with a strong desire to learn
