Internship Overview - Strategic Initiatives
The Ohio Department of Medicaid is seeking a graduate student to serve as a Strategic Initiatives Intern for the agency's Office of Strategic Initiatives, Maternal, Child and Family Wellness (MCFW) Section. Under the general direction of a Health Systems Administrator, the Graduate Intern will support the MCFW team on projects aimed at improving health outcomes for pregnant individuals, infants, children, and families enrolled in Medicaid. This role is ideal for a graduate student interested in public health, health policy, program evaluation, data analysis, public administration, or related fields.
Responsibilities will include:
Conducting literature reviews, environmental scans, and background research to inform policy and program decisions.
Assisting with qualitative and quantitative data analysis to support program evaluation and performance monitoring.
Supporting development of internal reports, briefing materials, presentations, and communication products.
Contributing to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of maternal, child, and family health initiatives.
Performing other duties as assigned to advance strategic priorities (special projects, maintaining logs, records, and files, etc.).

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university (graduate students preferred)

  • Active enrollment in an MHA, MPH, MPA, or similar graduate program

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is strongly preferred
