Our Function
The Portfolio Specialist Intern will support the Client Portfolio Management (CPM) team across a variety of research, writing, technology, and special project initiatives. This role is designed for a highly motivated student pursuing a degree in Finance, Investments, Economics, Business, or a related field who possesses a strong appetite for equity markets, excellent communication skills, advanced AI proficiency, and strong Microsoft Office capabilities.
The internship provides exposure to the asset management industry while offering the opportunity to help the CPM team improve productivity, streamline workflows, organize information, conduct research, and support a broad range of projects across the department.
The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, passionate about investing, eager to learn, comfortable leveraging artificial intelligence tools, and excited by the intersection of financial markets, technology, and business productivity.
Your Impact
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Research, Writing & Special Projects
  • Support the Client Portfolio Management team on a variety of research, writing, and special projects.
  • Research companies, industries, market trends, and investment themes across global equity markets.
  • Develop concise stock stories that summarize a company's business model, growth drivers, competitive advantages, risks, and key investment considerations.
  • Assist with gathering information and research that may contribute to monthly commentaries, market updates, presentations, and other investment-related materials.
  • Prepare written summaries, research notes, meeting recaps, and other internal communications.
  • Conduct competitive research and gather information on market, business, and industry-related topics.
  • Help organize information and transform complex topics into concise, actionable formats.
  • Participate in a wide range of ad hoc projects based on business needs and team priorities.

Technology & Process Enhancement
  • Leverage artificial intelligence tools and emerging technologies to improve research, information gathering, content creation, organization, and workflow efficiency.
  • Develop and refine AI prompts that support research, document creation, summarization, and knowledge management.
  • Assist with building repeatable processes, prompt libraries, templates, and workflow documentation.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve internal workflows and team productivity.
  • Support special projects involving technology adoption, automation, and process improvement.

Content Development & Team Support
  • Assist with developing presentations, exhibits, reports, and project materials using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Help organize, maintain, and improve internal content libraries and knowledge resources.
  • Support internal initiatives that improve organization, communication, content management, and team effectiveness.
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations that help the CPM team work more efficiently and effectively.
  • Assist with a variety of strategic and operational projects as assigned.

Your Skills & Qualifications:
Your required skills must include:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Investments, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong appetite for equity markets, investing, public companies, industries, and financial markets.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate ideas clearly, summarize information effectively, present findings professionally, and collaborate across a team environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Advanced AI skills, including experience using generative AI tools for research, content creation, workflow improvement, information organization, and productivity enhancement.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and interest in learning about investing, technology, and asset management.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to tackle a broad range of assignments.

Preferred Qualifications include:
  • Coursework in Investments, Security Analysis, Portfolio Management, Financial Markets, Corporate Finance, or Economics.

  • Experience developing presentations, reports, research summaries, or content using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Demonstrated personal interest in investing, financial markets, or equity research through coursework, clubs, personal investing, or independent study.

What We Offer
The base salary for this role is $30/Hour. Individual salaries for this role may vary based on various factors including but not limited to, years of experience, range in corporate level, candidate skills, and geographic location.
