Job description

Job type: W2 Contract (10–25 hrs/week), Fall 2026, 12–16 weeks

Location: Alexandria, VA (in-office)

Compensation: $13–16/hour


Overview

Our nonprofit client is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Education Intern to support the planning and execution of education programs and events for one of the country's leading trade associations. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in event coordination, member engagement, and professional development within a fast-paced association environment. The role supports education programs, including its signature event, their main conference, and involves close collaboration across departments in a highly collaborative, in-office culture.


Responsibilities

  • Assist with logistics for education sessions at events
  • Help manage timelines, materials, and program details.
  • Provide both on-site and virtual event support.
  • Track participant feedback and support program performance analysis.
  • Assist with communication between internal team members, speakers, and member participants as needed.
  • Contribute to process improvements by documenting lessons learned and recommending ways to strengthen future programs.


Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college/university program.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eager to learn and comfortable interacting with professionals and members.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar productivity tools.


Preferred Experience

  • Prior exposure to event planning, hospitality, or association/nonprofit environments.
  • Coursework or interest in adult learning, communications, or marketing.
  • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, in-office team culture.
