  • Perform structural analysis and engineering calculations for gravity, wind, seismic, snow, and other applicable loading conditions.
  • Develop and maintain structural design standards, engineering manuals, calculation templates, and design details.
  • Review architectural and engineering plan sets to ensure compliance with applicable building codes and company engineering standards.
  • Interpret and apply federal, state, and local building regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with AutoCAD programmers and drafting personnel to implement structural design standards and improve engineering workflows.
  • Provide technical guidance and answer structural design questions from manufacturing plants, drafting staff, purchasing, and other departments.
  • Coordinate with county, state, federal, and third-party code enforcement agencies regarding design approvals, inspections, and code interpretations.
  • Conduct engineering audits within manufacturing facilities to verify compliance with approved designs, engineering standards, and quality requirements.
  • Investigate production or field issues and develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Support product development initiatives, value engineering efforts, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, reports, specifications, and supporting documentation.
  • Engineers possessing an active Professional Engineer license will review, approve, and seal structural calculations, details, and engineering documents where required.
  • Very occasional travel (less than 10%) may be required to manufacturing facilities, customer sites, regulatory agencies, or industry meetings.
