Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Module Design Engineer with extensive knowledge of digital circuit design utilizing FPGAs, microprocessors, and various memory technologies for space. If you are great at what you do, enjoy working in a startup-like environment, and are passionate about developing leading-edge electronics for space, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do
  • Work under the direction of the Digital Module Lead Engineer to design digital modules through all development stages: from definition to implementation, bring‑up, qualification and final release.
  • Design planning, component selection, schematic design, layout guidance, analysis (including SI/PI and worst case analysis), integration, test/verification, and release.
  • Design with FPGAs, microprocessors, various memory components, high‑speed digital interfaces, and space application standard control interfaces.
  • Create bring‑up plans, execute verification testing, and run hands‑on hardware validation/debugging until the platform is efficiently implemented on the production floor.
  • Present technical materials for internal and customer design reviews.
  • Participate in detailed reviews of other engineer’s designs and help manage the schematic/layout tool flow.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years designing digital electronics for space or high‑reliability systems.
  • Experience delivering flight‑qualified hardware for various orbits.
  • Strong experience in designing digital modules hosting FPGAs, microprocessors, various memory components, high‑speed digital interfaces, and space application standard control interfaces.
  • Extensive knowledge of circuit design and signal/power integrity is expected.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Altium, CST, SIWave.
  • Hands‑on lab experience (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, bring‑up/debug).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure (alone and as a team) to meet tight deadlines.
  • Highly motivated and well organized with a will‑do attitude and excellent communication/team skills.
Nice to Have
  • Radiation‑tolerant design experience (including fault tolerance, redundancy, high‑reliability design practices and parts selection).
  • Familiarity with NASA, MIL‑STD, ECSS, IPC standards.
  • Understanding of software, power electronics, or mechanical interfaces.
  • Experience with environmental, thermal, or vibration testing.
Eligibility

Due to export regulations, U.S. citizenship or U.S. person status may be required.

Benefits
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Medical, dental, vision, PTO, holidays, FSAs, 401(k) match, short‑term and long‑term disability, and parental leave.
Remuneration

The salary range for this position is $130,000–$180,000 with the potential for a bonus. Ramon.Space will consider relevant work experience, skills, education, and training when putting together an offer for this position.

Equal Opportunity

Ramon.Space is committed to equal employment opportunities.

Location

Flexible hybrid working model with opportunities for remote work. The office is located in the South Denver suburbs.
