The Principal Artificial Intelligence (AI) Software Architect leads the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale AI and software engineering solutions. This role combines deep technical expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and software architecture with strategic leadership to drive innovation, scalability, and engineering excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and lead the development of AI-driven platforms, applications, and scalable software solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Partner with engineering, product, data, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities and deliver impactful AI-enabled solutions.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement AI technologies, software frameworks, and architectural patterns that support long-term scalability and maintainability.
  • Establish and promote best practices for AI model development, MLOps, software engineering, DevOps, cloud architecture, and system design.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute technical strategies and roadmaps that align with organizational goals and future business needs.
  • Ensure AI and software solutions adhere to data privacy, security, governance, and ethical AI standards.
  • Champion engineering excellence through architecture reviews, code quality standards, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and agile delivery methodologies.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and advancements in AI to identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience driving innovation through emerging technologies, modern software development practices, and AI solutions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with demonstrated success influencing technical and business teams.
  • Extensive experience designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML and software solutions in cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Deep expertise in machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, and generative AI technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to align technical strategy with organizational objectives and business outcomes.
  • Experience building consensus and driving adoption of complex technical initiatives across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Advanced proficiency in modern programming languages, software design patterns, and architectural frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy, security, governance, and regulatory considerations related to AI and software systems.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in software architecture, software engineering, or related technical leadership roles, including at least 2 years focused on AI/ML solutions.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise application development technologies and frameworks.
  • 5+ years of experience working with relational database technologies and data-driven application architectures.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, distributed systems, and modern AI deployment practices preferred.
