Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

The Information Technology Internship program provides on-the-job experience to college students where they can apply concepts, principles, and skills learned from the classroom.  This 10-week program exposes the intern to our airport retail and dining organization with a special focus on information technology. This role may be focused on Data/Cyber Security, IT infrastructure & Services, or IT Application Systems& Solutions. The intern will also be exposed to the cross-functional relationships between Information Technology and other business areas such as Retail and Dining operations.  This internship provides the candidate the opportunity to gain valuable, real-world experience working on meaningful projects that impact internal operations

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 10-week introduction to Paradies Lagardere that combines hands on experience and on-the-job training with a dynamic Information Technology team.
  • Curriculum will include but is not limited to the following areas:
    • Assisting in preliminary research for new projects, including resources, budget, and timeline. Gaining practical experience in generating or enhancing codes/scripts building/maintaining databases, and troubleshooting.
    • Participating in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing user accounts, and supporting the IT team.
    • Reviewing and assessing technical environments to identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction.
    • Contributing to the documentation of IT procedures.
  • Interview 3 - 5 leaders to better understand their functions and perspectives on the business.
  • In partnership with your supervisor and student faculty, gain approval to solve a problem or opportunity that will benefit Paradies Lagardere. Present findings to our organization’s management and faculty staff. 
  • Fulfill all other assignments included in the internship syllabus including weekly reports, daily journal, company portfolio, etc.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program with a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in information technology/science, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledgeable in one or more scripting languages.
  • Familiarity and/or experience with common AI tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with common operating systems (Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android).
  • Exposure to Azure or other Cloud environments (AWS, etc)
