  • Refine structural models and interpret structural findings.
  • Apply antigen design and protein engineering tools to support scientific research projects.
  • Conduct structure prediction and modeling to inform experimental design.
  • Perform in vitro biochemical and biophysical assays to evaluate proteins and constructs.
  • Analyze experimental data and identify biologically relevant findings.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement new structure-related technologies to enhance VRC capabilities.
  • Develop, implement, and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for structural prediction, protein design, and data visualization.
  • Collaborate with NIH investigators and multidisciplinary project teams to support ongoing research.
  • Provide scientific input and technical feedback on experimental approaches.
  • Prepare structural data and models for submission to public databases (e.g., Protein Data Bank, Electron Microscopy Data Bank).
  • Contribute to preparation of manuscripts, presentations, and scientific communications.
  • Collaborate with visualization teams to develop graphical or 3D representations of structural data for presentations and publications.

What You Will Need:

  • Ph.D. in Structural Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Computational Biology, or a closely related biomedical field; OR Master's degree with a minimum of FOUR (4) years of experience in structural biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or related scientific research is equivalent to a Ph.D.
  • Demonstrated expertise in structural biology techniques, including cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and/or X-ray crystallography.
  • Ability to independently process cryo-EM and/or X-ray crystallography datasets, refine structures, and interpret results.
  • Experience applying antigen design and protein engineering tools.
  • Experience developing and implementing advanced structural biology methods and protocols.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills to support multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and scientific data tools.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD "public trust"; candidates must receive approved adjudication prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an active public trust or suitability are preferred.

What Would Be Nice To Have:
