Position Purpose:
The Vice President of Procurement is a senior enterprise executive responsible for setting the overall procurement vision, strategy, governance, and performance agenda across the organization. This role provides executive leadership over enterprise-wide sourcing, supplier management, contract strategy, procurement operations, commodity risk management, and value creation initiatives. The role is designed support the SVP procurement scope, which includes oversight of procurement activities, sourcing strategies, supplier relationships, contract negotiations, cost-effective purchasing practices, market trend monitoring, risk mitigation, and procurement technology implementation.
The VP partners closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, legal, and business unit leaders, to ensure procurement strategies align with enterprise objectives, profitability goals, operational efficiency, compliance expectations, and competitive advantage.
Major Functional Responsibilities
  • Establish and lead the enterprise procurement strategy, ensuring sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiation, and procurement operations are aligned with long-term business goals and cost savings objectives.
  • Provide executive oversight for procurement operations across all major business units and procurement categories, including supplier-facing and internal procurement functions.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure quality, reliability, value, and continuity of supply.
  • Lead enterprise-level contract strategy and high-value negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with legal, regulatory, corporate policy, and internal standards.
  • Identify, sponsor, and oversee cost reduction, productivity improvement, and value creation initiatives across the supply chain.
  • Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, supplier performance, and supply chain risks to inform sourcing decisions and protect continuity of supply.
  • Partner with finance, operations, legal, and other senior stakeholders to align procurement decisions with broader business priorities, financial targets, risk management requirements, and operational needs.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement leadership team, including senior procurement leaders, VP-level leaders, Director-level leaders, and broader procurement teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement through procurement analytics, spend analysis, process improvement, technology adoption, and best-in-class procurement practices.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies, food safety standards, regulatory requirements, trade regulations, and applicable internal controls.
  • Provide executive updates to senior leadership regarding procurement performance, savings initiatives, supplier risks, market conditions, and strategic opportunities.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field required.
• 10 or more years of progressive leadership experience in Procurement.
• Extensive experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain management, and enterprise-wide procurement leadership.
• Proven experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, cost reduction, productivity improvement, contract negotiation, and contract administration.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale procurement functions and influence senior stakeholders across organizational lines.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen, including budgeting, cost management, risk analysis, and procurement performance measurement
• Experience with ERP systems, procurement systems, supplier management software, procurement analytics tools, spend analysis tools, and technology-enabled procurement transformation.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Deep understanding of procurement best practices, compliance, trade regulations, global sourcing, and risk management.
• Strategic thinker with a proactive, technology-oriented mindset and a demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement across procurement processes.

Master's degree or MBA
• Experience with commercial operations, including senior-level people leadership and P and L accountability.
