Job description

Job Title: CNC Operator 1ST SHIFT and 2nd SHIFT
 Location: San Antonio, TX 78226
 Job summary: Responsible for operating multiple CNC machines within established standards and inspecting parts during the machining process. The operator will be responsible for the quality of the parts being produced and for achieving production standards.
 
Responsibilities:
  1. Set-up and operate multiple CNC machines simultaneously without routine supervision. Will be expected to cross-train on all CNC equipment.
  2. Performs basic math calculations, including addition and subtraction of decimals.
  3. Interprets basic dimensions on a print and loads, unloads and inspects parts while maintaining dimensional tolerances within specifications.
  4. Accurately utilizes precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gage pins and depth micrometers.
  5. Detects equipment malfunctions and/or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine as required to ensure quality of production.
  6. Reports machining problems to supervisor for assistance.
  7. Maintains a clean work area, including equipment, and observes all safety procedures.
  8. Follows documented operator procedures including but not limited to inspection check sheets and operator notes.
  9. Performs other duties as needed and assigned.
Requirements:
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Minimum 1 year experience in setting up multi-axis CNCs; preferably routers, horizontal milling, and/or vertical milling machines.
  3. CNC programming is a plus.
  4. Knowledge and use of precision measuring instrument, including but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, and indicators.
  5. Understanding blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing interpretation.
  6. Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines.
  7. Must be able to cross-train and run multiple machines simultaneously.
  8. Must possess basic math skills including, but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  9. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions and be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demands.
  10. Must be available to work overtime as required
