Overview

For an organization to transform into today’s digital world, it needs to properly collect, store, and organize its data.

Effective data management can enable more efficient operations, yielding more growth. As a Data Architect, you will apply your creative‑thinking and analytical mindset to help organizations manage their data assets. We’re looking for an experienced data architect to deliver leading‑edge solutions for the Department of the Air Force.

Responsibilities

As a Data Architect on our team, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of structured and unstructured data, transforming raw information into highly discoverable, governed, and usable assets.

This role is critical for bridging data availability while maintaining strict compliance and security boundaries. You’ll use your technical expertise to design data architecture solutions for data architecture and modeling, data conditioning, data tagging, discovery, and cross‑domain availability.

You will create, design, and implement these solutions in collaboration with business analysts and technology teams to support current and future Department of the Air Force systems.

You will guide your team as it designs, defines, develops, and tests cloud solution components, and you will serve as a liaison between our customers and developers to ensure that requirements are met and solutions are delivered.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture or data engineering
  • Experience managing both relational databases (SQL) and non‑relational systems such as NoSQL, Vector DBs, or Object Storage
  • Experience working with air‑gapped systems, cross‑domain solutions, or multi‑level security (MLS) IT environments
  • Experience with modern data pipeline tools and data cataloging platforms
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Information Technology
Nice to Have
  • Experience designing robust data frameworks to ingest, process, and store massive structured and unstructured datasets
  • Experience cleaning, normalizing, and transforming raw data to ensure absolute quality, consistency, and readiness for analytics
  • Experience with cloud‑based secure infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Experience with automated metadata extraction and AI‑driven data tagging
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Information Technology
  • AWS, Microsoft, or Google Data Engineering certifications
  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) certifications
Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Secret clearance is required.

Compensation

Salary range: $86,800.00 – $198,000.00 annualized USD (typical range). Benefits include health, life, disability, financial, and retirement plans; paid leave; professional development; tuition assistance; work‑life programs; and dependent care.

EEO Statement

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to disability, status as a protected veteran, or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, local, or international law.

Work Model

Position may be remote, hybrid, or onsite. Remote positions may still require occasional in‑person work. Hybrid positions require frequent work at a Booz Allen facility. Onsite positions are performed primarily at a Booz Allen office or customer facility.
