What will you do as a Tanker Driver & Maintenance Technician?
As part of the Production and Operations Team, the Tanker Driver & Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the company's business goals and objectives. This position is also responsible for maintenance, repair, delivery, set up, moving, and/or exchange of all Company beverage equipment to maximize customer satisfaction and sales
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Transport bulk water to facility for production.
  • Perform required vehicle checks and load checks according to CCBCHC standard practices.
  • Perform diversified duties to maintain production lines equipment.
  • Operate industrial power equipment.
  • Keep up to date on information and technology affecting functional areas.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform immediate repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Overhaul and install new equipment.
  • Rebuild and fabricate parts.
  • Maintain clean and safe work area.
  • Generate parts request to ensure adequate inventory.
  • Generate and complete work orders as assigned.
  • Assist in equipment change-overs and production line set ups.
  • Operate and monitor equipment and replenish materials as needed.
  • Analyze production line to identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for the prevention of widespread breakdown in production.
  • Manage line efficiencies, key performance indicators and down time.
  • Deliver, remove, exchange, and relocate beverage equipment.
  • Load and unload beverage equipment for delivery and/or return
  • Communicate with customers and supervisors regarding delivery and pick up status
  • Cooler placement - which involves checking temperature and refrigeration.
  • Educate customers in operation of equipment.
  • Assist with installations, removals, and relocations of fountain equipment (post mix or premix) and coffee-dispensing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform immediate repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Maintain and complete required paperwork such as work tickets, parts list, vehicle inspections, etc.
  • Monitor the production process, make periodic checks and adjust equipment or work practices according to standard operating procedures.
  • Adhere to good manufacturing practices and safety standards.
  • Conform with, abide by, and re-enforce all regulations, policies, work procedures and processes.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to operate all types of industrial power trucks.
  • Must have an active Class B CDL with Tanker endorsement, have the ability to operate a Class B Tanker, understand and remain in compliance with all CDL requirements and have a motor vehicle driving history that meets CCBCHC guidelines.
  • Ability to pass and maintain DOT physical requirements.
  • Ability to follow manufacturer's specifications and schematics.
  • Ability to apply mechanical skills.
  • Ability to diagnose problems and formulate solutions on production machinery.
  • Electrical problem diagnosis and repair.
  • Welding skills, construction abilities and plumbing and mechanical system repair.

Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2-5 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • 1+ years of mechanical/electrical experience preferred.
  • Prior diagnostic/troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Refrigeration/HVAC trade or vocational certification preferred.
  • General plumbing and technical experience preferred.
  • Previous vending equipment repair and distribution a plus.
  • Forklift certification preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Work environment; must be able to work standing for long periods of time. Maintenance work involves but is not limited to, heights, confined space and outdoors.
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
  • Work involves walking, talking and hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to focus when working on small components.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)
  • Hearing protection dependent on specified areas.
  • Hair nets if working on open container end of the production lines.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • The noise level in the work environment can be moderately noisy due to manufacturing and/or warehousing equipment in operation.
  • Some areas are slippery due to the production process.
  • Warehouse area has heavy forklift traffic.
