We are seeking an experienced Residential Remodeling Tile Setter to join our subcontracting team. This role is responsible for installing tile on floors, walls, backsplashes, shower surrounds, tub surrounds, and other surfaces across residential remodeling projects.

This is a contract position. For each project, the tile setter will participate in a walkthrough, review the scope of work, and submit a bid based on the project requirements.

The ideal candidate has strong technical tile-setting experience, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to clean, precise, high-quality workmanship.


What You'll Do
  • Measure and lay out tile installations according to project plans and specifications
  • Cut tile accurately to fit designated spaces, corners, edges, and patterns
  • Prepare surfaces and apply mortar, adhesive, waterproofing, and related materials
  • Install tile on floors, walls, backsplashes, shower stalls, tub surrounds, and other residential surfaces
  • Build out shower stalls and tub surrounds from preparation through final installation
  • Ensure tile is level, properly aligned, evenly spaced, and securely bonded
  • Complete grouting, sealing, finishing, and cleanup
  • Identify substrate, moisture, layout, or installation concerns before work proceeds
  • Protect surrounding surfaces and maintain clean, organized work areas
  • Follow BRYJO specifications, project schedules, and quality standards
  • Communicate progress, material needs, delays, and field concerns to Project Managers
  • Coordinate effectively with carpenters, plumbers, designers, and other trades
  • Follow all jobsite safety requirements
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience as a tile setter, preferably in residential remodeling
  • Demonstrated experience building and tiling shower stalls and tub surrounds
  • Strong knowledge of tile installation methods, waterproofing systems, mortars, adhesives, grout, sealants, and related materials
  • Experience installing ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, mosaic, and large-format tile
  • Ability to perform accurate measurements, layouts, cuts, and pattern work
  • Ability to work independently and complete installations with limited supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
  • Clear communication and reliable follow-through
  • Ability to meet project timelines and coordinate with other trades
  • Proper tools, transportation, and insurance required for subcontract work
  • Physical ability to lift materials, kneel, bend, climb, and work in active residential construction environments
