As an intern, you will gain insight into the world of non-profits and international business, learn from industry leaders and get to know about the local professional and business community. All interns are assigned real life tasks and given professional titles to be used throughout the semester. WTCI's interns attend all of our prestigious events and get a chance to practice valuable networking skills. Some of our best interns go on to full-time positions with many of our clients - some of Maryland's most prestigious institutions.

About the Role

The Membership & Business Development Intern will work closely with the Senior Manager of Membership & Business Development to learn about international business, nonprofit operations, and modern CRM systems. This is a hands-on learning opportunity where you'll gain experience with technology tools, data analysis, and professional networking while supporting our membership team with day-to-day operations.

What You'll Learn & Do


Administrative Support:

  • Help with member renewal communications and event name badge preparation
  • Assist with organizing new member welcome materials and taking meeting notes
  • Support event preparation, setup and logistics

Research & Analysis:

  • Research Maryland companies and industries with guidance
  • Help analyze membership information to spot trends and opportunities
  • Assist with creating reports using AI tools, explore new AI platforms, and help identify
    additional ways to integrate AI into our workflow

Database & Technology:

  • Get hands-on experience with Salesforce and learn CRM best practices
  • Help maintain member database records and learn data management
  • Support membership tracking and prospect identification

Networking & Communication:

  • Learn about WTCI's mission and practice explaining our benefits to others
  • Attend exclusive member events, including, Agile Series, Inside Series, Supply Chain Network Group, and Taste of Business - great opportunities to network and learn from industry leaders
