The Program Management Intern will join a firm-wide team responsible for project controls, scheduling, and delivery oversight across Westwood's Land, Renewables, Public Infrastructure, and Power markets. This position offers direct exposure to how multi-disciplinary engineering, surveying, and environmental projects are planned, tracked, and delivered on time and on budget, working alongside project managers and discipline leads on projects ranging from single-site assignments to large, multi-phase programs for public and private clients.


As a Program Management Intern, the selected candidate will learn to apply project controls fundamentals - including schedule development, budget tracking, and status reporting - under the guidance of experienced program and project managers. The intern will gain hands-on experience with the tools and processes Westwood uses to monitor project health, coordinate resources across teams, and communicate progress to clients and internal leadership.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist project managers in developing and maintaining project schedules, tracking milestones and deliverables across multiple disciplines.
  • Support budget tracking and invoicing activities, including monitoring hours, expenses, and contract fees against approved project budgets.
  • Prepare regular project status reports and dashboards summarizing schedule, budget, and risk information for internal and client review.
  • Coordinate with project managers and discipline leads across Land, Renewables, Public Infrastructure, and Power to gather updates and ensure consistent reporting.
  • Assist in the development of resource and staffing plans to support project scheduling and workload forecasting.
  • Support client communications and meeting logistics, including preparing agendas, documenting meeting minutes, and tracking action items.
  • Perform basic design assignments on varous projects.
  • Produces and maintains architectural documents
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, Engineering Management, or a related field.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, management, and project team members.
  • Willingness to learn in a flexible, cross-disciplinary work environment.
  • Willingness to occasionally attend client meetings or site visits as needed to support project coordination.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with particular emphasis on Excel for tracking and reporting.

  • Relevant experience through coursework projects or prior internships in project controls, program management, or business operations.
