DIRECTOR, MIDDLE MARKET RELATIONSHIP MANAGER - BOCA RATON, FLORIDA
Drive the growth and market expansion of BMO's Middle Market Banking business across Broward and Palm Beach counties by developing and deepening relationships with middle-market and corporate clients. This role serves as a senior advisor to business owners, executives, and sponsors, delivering strategic financial solutions while driving profitable revenue growth, portfolio performance, and long-term client retention.
The ideal candidate is a highly relationship-driven middle market banker with a strong track record of business development and relationship management. This individual will combine deep client engagement with strategic thinking to deliver customized banking solutions and expand BMO's presence in one of Florida's fastest-growing markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management & Business Development
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of complex middle market banking relationships, serving as the primary advisor to clients on strategic financial needs.
  • Proactively originate new business opportunities through targeted calling efforts, centers of influence, referral networks, and community engagement.
  • Build long-term relationships with business owners, private equity sponsors, attorneys, CPAs, and other key intermediaries to drive market growth.
  • Deliver comprehensive banking solutions including credit, treasury management, capital markets, deposits, and risk management products.
  • Lead client strategy discussions focused on growth, liquidity, acquisitions, succession planning, and operational optimization.

Revenue Growth & Portfolio Management
  • Drive portfolio growth, profitability, and retention while maintaining strong risk-adjusted returns and return-on-equity objectives.
  • Identify and execute cross-sell opportunities across BMO's platform to deepen client relationships and increase share of wallet.
  • Monitor portfolio performance proactively, identifying trends, opportunities, and emerging risks.
  • Maintain disciplined pipeline management and achieve or exceed production, revenue, and relationship growth goals.

Credit & Transaction Leadership
  • Structure and negotiate complex commercial credit transactions tailored to client needs and aligned with the Bank's risk appetite.
  • Partner closely with Credit, Treasury, Capital Markets, and Risk teams to deliver timely and competitive solutions.
  • Lead underwriting discussions, pricing strategy, and credit approval processes for large and sophisticated transactions.
  • Serve as a trusted escalation point for complex client matters and negotiate successful resolutions that strengthen relationships.

Risk Management & Compliance
  • Ensure all client activities and transactions adhere to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and sound risk management practices.
  • Maintain strong credit discipline while balancing client experience, responsiveness, and profitability objectives.
  • Protect the Bank's reputation through consistent execution, sound judgment, and adherence to compliance standards.

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of middle market banking, corporate banking, or relationship management experience with a demonstrated history of business development success.
  • Proven ability to originate and manage complex middle-market or corporate client relationships.
  • Strong commercial credit acumen with experience structuring sophisticated lending solutions.
  • Demonstrated success generating significant revenue growth and building high-performing client portfolios.
  • Excellent executive presence, negotiation skills, and relationship management capabilities.
  • Deep knowledge of the South Florida business market preferred, with a strong focus on Broward and Palm Beach counties.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.

Salary:
$122,400.00 - $228,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
