Salary:  CAN46.74/hour, Step 2: CAN49.68/hour (*after 90 worked days of probation)

As a Design Draftsperson, Inspection - Electrical, you will actively participate in the planning, design, and inspection of electrical projects that are essential to the proper functioning and sustainability of our facilities. With your technical expertise, attention to detail, and initiative, you will ensure that every project meets the highest standards of quality, compliance, and safety.

Your responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and verify electrical technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) technology to ensure content quality and compliance with standards and regulations;
  • Produce detailed designs for structures, systems, and equipment, including performing calculations, defining material specifications, and preparing technical specifications and project documentation;
  • Inspect and supervise electrical construction work to ensure technical compliance, adherence to contracts and specifications, implementation of necessary adjustments, regulatory compliance, and the safety of sites and equipment;
  • Serve as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders, as well as with contractors.

Your profile

  • College diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology or a related field;
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in designing computer-assisted electrical drawings and inspecting electrical construction work;
  • Experience and proficiency with CAD technology (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Vault, and AutoCAD Electrical);
  • Eligible for certification with l'Ordre des technologues professionnels du Quebec or the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT);
  • Strong knowledge of drawing techniques, design, inspection, and framework/structure construction;
  • Knowledge of applicable procedures, rules, regulations, standards, and safe work practices related to job duties;
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing;
  • Valid driver's license (Class G in Ontario or Class 5 in Quebec) and an insurable driving record;
  • Eligible for Marine Transportation Security Clearance;
  • Availability to undergo a medical examination and functional capacity evaluation;
  • Ability to work at heights, in depths, near open water, and in confined spaces.
