JOB DESCRIPTION

Insight Global is seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer to join a telecommunications client in Kanata, ON.

This individual will support the design and development of advanced FPGA solutions for packet-optical platform products, owning full lifecycle responsibilities from design through validation while collaborating cross-functionally with hardware, software, and verification teams.


REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years of experience as an FPGA/ASIC design engineer with a Bachelor’s in Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong experience managing large, complex FPGA designs (area/timing constraints)
  • Advanced RTL design experience (Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog)
  • Experience with FPGA tools (Vivado, Quartus) and back-end design constraints
  • Expertise in clock domain crossing and IP integration
  • Experience with interface and transport protocols (Ethernet, OTN, PCIe, SPI, I2C, MDIO)
  • Familiarity with UVM verification environments and scripting (Python, Tcl)
  • Strong collaboration skills; experience working with cross-functional engineering teams
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to project planning


NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with board-level or embedded software design
  • Exposure to FPGA design automation, scripts, and tool improvements
