Job description

Build the Future with Us - EquipmentShare is Hiring a Okta Administrator

At EquipmentShare, we're not just filling a role - we're assembling the best team on the planet to build something that's never been built before. We're on a mission to transform an industry that's been stuck in the past by empowering contractors and communities through innovative technology, real-time support, and a team that truly cares.

We're hiring a Okta Administrator at our Corporate Headquarters in Columbia, MO, and we're looking for someone who's ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction. This position is fully remote.

The Okta Administrator is a hands-on technical administration role supporting Okta across the broader application landscape, with particular emphasis on systems that require strong access governance, auditability, and SOX compliance. This role administers Okta-connected applications, supports provisioning and deprovisioning, improves documentation, troubleshoots access issues, and partners with IAM, IT, Security, Financial Systems, Engineering, and business teams to strengthen access controls. The work includes integrations, SCIM provisioning, workflow automation, SSO configuration, and IaC-managed or IaC-adjacent Okta processes, with a focus on operational excellence, controlled execution, and practical automation.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Administer Okta users, groups, application assignments, policies, and access changes across business-critical systems.
  • Support access provisioning, deprovisioning, and role changes for employees, contractors, service accounts, and privileged users.
  • Assist with Okta application integrations, including SAML, OIDC, SCIM, app assignments, group mapping, and downstream provisioning behavior.
  • Partner with IAM analysts, Financial Systems engineers, Security, IT, and application owners on SSO, SCIM, lifecycle, and provisioning improvements.
  • Help test, validate, and document Okta integrations, provisioning updates, automations, and access workflows before production rollout.
  • Execute approved Okta configuration updates according to change control, approval, and documentation standards.
  • Support systems requiring SOX-compliant access governance by assisting with evidence gathering, access reviews, exception research, and remediation tracking.
  • Help maintain clean Okta group structures, naming conventions, app ownership, access models, and operational runbooks.
  • Triage and resolve Okta-related access issues, including app tile access, MFA, group assignment, provisioning failures, and downstream application access.
  • Identify repetitive manual work that could be improved through workflow, automation, IaC, better request intake, or clearer ownership.
  • Coordinate with helpdesk and application support teams to ensure access requests are handled consistently and with appropriate approvals.
  • Document common Okta tasks, access request patterns, troubleshooting steps, integration notes, and recurring administrative processes.
  • Provide occasional weekend support for escalated Okta or access-related tickets that IT support teams are unable to resolve, particularly when access issues affect business-critical systems or time-sensitive operations.
