Armstrong World Industries (AWI) is seeking motivated candidates for our Summer Engineering Internship opportunities based at our manufacturing location in Macon, GA.

Engineering Internship Program Offerings 

Mechanical - Capital Engineering Intern: 

  • Completing an assigned engineering project during the term of the internship 
  • Contributing to several ongoing capital engineering projects within the plant 
  • Experience with and exposure to supporting the Project Management Life Cycle, including: 
    • Preparation of project specifications and requirements 
    • Project schedule coordination and utilization of Project Management tools 
    • Installation oversight, project closing activities, and sustainability initiatives 
  • Valuable insight into large-scale manufacturing facilities, equipment, and safe working practices 
  • AutoCAD experience - updating existing drawings and creating new drawings 
  • Exposure to Conveying, combustion, fluid, and pneumatic transfer systems 

Mechanical - Maintenance Engineering Intern: 

  • Experience with and exposure to the primary components of Equipment Reliability, including: 
    • Asset management and process improvement 
    • Capital management and execution 
    • Contractor integration and management 
    • Development of machine maintenance best practices (PM, PdM, and more)

Required Qualifications 

  • Must be currently pursuing a bachelorโ€™s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) at an ABET accredited program AND be a maximum of 24 months away from graduation 
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (cumulative, and within major)
