At Browning Day, our portfolio spans a broad range of project types within civic, cultural, healthcare, higher education, faith-based, hospitality, mixed-use, preservation and reuse, sports and wellness, and the workplace. Our success is based on the client's vision coming to life and includes a team of Architects, Interior Designers, Landscape Architects, and support staff who play a part in solving complex design problems. We are seeking an Architectural Intern who will add their skills and creativity to our diverse projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Incorporates and considers sustainable design solutions into all projects.
  • Provide support to architectural staff
  • Support project teams in all stages of the project
  • Responsibilities vary based on experience, interests, and business needs, but included:
    • Renderings
    • Field measurements
    • Construction documents
    • Finish schedules
    • Design documents
    • General detailing
  • Other tasks as assigned

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possesses creative talent in the communication of complex and diverse conceptual ideas.

  • Excellent communicator: verbal, written, presenting, training, and public speaking. Prefer a proficient level of experience in the following: 
    • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
    • Sketchup, Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D rendering software (Lumion)
    • Knowledge of Affinity Photo, Designer, and Publisher
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Walking construction sites while talking to clients, staff, or construction managers and carrying up to 15 lbs. (Our projects range from small, single-story 2,500 square-foot buildings to 20+ multi-story 200,000+ square feet high-rise towers).
    • Inspecting the details of the construction site by taking photos while bending, reaching, and walking up and down stairs.
    • Sitting and doing desk-related tasks for long periods. Floor plan dimensioning.
  • Enrolled as a junior or higher in an undergraduate program, having successfully completed at least two years of coursework toward a bachelor's degree.
  • Must have successfully completed a Revit course prior to beginning the internships
  • Applicants must include electronic work samples and a resume to be considered. 
  • Satisfactory completion of a background screening.

  • Internship with competitive compensation and paid holidays (including a bonus holiday).
