Intermodal Companies Owner Operators information

What is an intermodal companies owner operator?

Intermodal Companies Owner Operators are independent truck drivers or small business owners who transport freight using containers that can move seamlessly between different modes of transportation, such as ships, trains, and trucks. They own or lease their own trucks and contract with intermodal logistics companies or freight brokers to move cargo between ports, rail yards, and distribution centers. These operators are responsible for their own schedules, maintenance, and business operations, but benefit from the flexibility and potential profitability of working independently within the intermodal freight industry.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an intermodal companies owner operator?

To thrive as an Intermodal Companies Owner Operator, you need a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL), a solid understanding of freight logistics, and experience with containerized cargo transportation. Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), dispatch software, and compliance regulations such as DOT and FMCSA standards is typically required. Strong time management, customer service, and problem-solving abilities help build client relationships and address operational challenges. These skills ensure efficient, compliant, and profitable operations in the highly competitive intermodal freight industry.

What are common challenges intermodal companies owner operators face and how can they prepare for them?

Intermodal Companies Owner Operators often encounter challenges such as managing tight delivery schedules, navigating complex port procedures, and handling unexpected delays due to equipment or paperwork issues. To prepare, it's important to stay organized, maintain strong communication with dispatchers and terminal staff, and keep up-to-date with regulations and port requirements. Building relationships with reliable mechanics and keeping your truck well-maintained can also minimize downtime and increase efficiency. Being proactive and adaptable will help you succeed in this dynamic environment.

Job description

About Radix
Radix is revolutionizing how the multifamily world makes decisions. From investment to divestment, and everything in between, Radix brings data transparency, market intelligence, and acquisition modeling into a seamless ecosystem that turns the industry's best insights into confident decisions.

What You Will Be Part Of

As Strategic Account Executive, you will help drive Radix’s next stage of growth by bringing Radix RealRents, Radix Analytics, and Radix Underwriting to the owners, operators, and investors shaping the multifamily industry. In this strategic revenue role, you will lead complex sales efforts across enterprise and strategic accounts, partner with senior decision-makers across multifamily organizations, and position the full Radix platform as a driver of smarter, faster, and more confident decisions across the lifecycle — from acquisitions through operations.

You will build relationships across operations, asset management, acquisitions, investments, revenue management, property management, and executive leadership, while representing Radix in the market through customer engagements and industry events. This role is ideal for a high-performing seller with deep multifamily expertise, strong industry credibility, and a passion for helping customers unlock value through data and technology.

What You Will Achieve

  • Generate new revenue opportunities across NMHC Top 50 organizations and mid-market multifamily owners, operators, management companies, REITs, private equity firms, and owner/operators.

  • Build and execute strategic territory and account plans focused on new logo acquisition, account expansion, and long-term relationship development within large enterprise and strategic accounts.

  • Drive qualified pipeline through strategic outbound prospecting, referrals, partnerships, conferences, and multifamily industry networking.

  • Position and sell the full Radix portfolio, including Radix RealRents, Radix Analytics, and Radix Underwriting, by aligning Radix solutions to customer goals across investment strategy, operations, revenue optimization, and portfolio performance.

  • Deliver executive-level presentations, product demonstrations, and value-based business cases that build consensus among multiple stakeholders and buying centers.

  • Develop and deepen relationships across the C-suite, operations leadership, asset management, revenue management, acquisitions, investments, and property management leadership to create momentum and expand influence across multifamily organizations.

  • Leverage existing owner and operator relationships to expand product adoption across portfolios, related entities, and adjacent business groups.

  • Identify and advance cross-sell and upsell opportunities across the Radix ecosystem to increase customer value and revenue growth.

  • Represent Radix at key industry events, including NMHC events, OPTECH, multifamily conferences, client events, and regional industry meetings.

  • Travel for customer meetings, strategic account reviews, and industry conferences to support pipeline development and relationship growth.

  • Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle, from initial prospecting through contract execution, while maintaining accurate forecasting and pipeline discipline in Salesforce.

  • Partner closely with Client Success and Leadership teams to ensure strong internal alignment, successful handoffs, and sustained account growth.

  • Consistently meet or exceed revenue, pipeline creation, and activity goals.

What Makes You a Strong Fit

  • 5+ years of quota-carrying B2B sales experience.

  • 3+ years of success selling technology, analytics, data, market intelligence, or related SaaS solutions into multifamily housing organizations.

  • Demonstrated experience selling into multifamily ownership groups, property management companies, owner/operators, REITs, and investment firms.

  • Proven ability to sell complex solutions involving multiple stakeholders, buying centers, and enterprise sales cycles.

  • Strong understanding of multifamily operations, acquisitions, asset management, and property performance metrics.

  • A consistent track record of exceeding sales quotas and creating net-new pipeline.

  • Proficiency with Salesforce and modern sales engagement tools.

  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Existing relationships with NMHC Top 50 owners, operators, and management companies are strongly preferred.

  • Experience selling multifamily market intelligence platforms, revenue management solutions, PropTech software, analytics platforms, or investment underwriting technology is a strong plus.

  • Familiarity with competitors, adjacent solutions, and the broader multifamily technology landscape is preferred.

  • Experience selling both operational and investment-focused solutions is highly valuable.

  • You are a hunter first who is comfortable opening doors, creating urgency, and building momentum in strategic accounts.

  • You are comfortable selling to executive stakeholders and navigating complex multifamily organizations with confidence and credibility.

  • You know how to expand relationships after the initial sale by identifying connections across owners, operators, asset managers, and acquisitions teams.

  • You are passionate about the multifamily industry and energized by the opportunity to help transform it through data and technology.

  • You can confidently represent the full Radix vision across the multifamily lifecycle, from acquisitions through operations.

Why You Will Love Working Here

  • Comprehensive Benefits

    • Medical, dental and vision coverage designed to support your wellbeing.

  • Uncapped Paid Time Off

    • We trust you to take the time you need to recharge and do your best work.

  • Pre-IPO Equity

    • Meaningful ownership with the potential to grow right alongside Radix.

  • Performance Bonus

    • Rewarded for the impact you drive, not just tasks completed.

  • Learn From the Best

    • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with industry experts, innovative operators, and leaders shaping the future of multifamily.

  • Build Category-Defining Products

    • Join us during a high-velocity, post–Series A growth stage where your ideas influence the market, not just the roadmap.
