This role supports our mission to optimize calf health and help producers start every herd on the right foot by leading food safety, quality, and compliance programs aligned with FSSC 22000 and GMP+. Partnering closely with operations and cross-functional teams, you will drive continuous improvement, strengthen quality systems, and ensure every product reflects our commitment to animal health, research-backed innovation, and producer success.ย

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and continuously improve the Food Safety Management System aligned with FSSC 22000 and GMP+
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal food safety and quality standards
  • Support and participate in external audits (FSSC, regulatory, customer) and internal audit programs, including corrective actions
  • Lead mock recall exercises and maintain readiness to protect product integrity
  • Investigate non-conformances and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Oversee vendor qualification programs, including audits, risk assessments, and ongoing monitoring
  • Manage document control systems (SOPs, records) to ensure accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness
  • Partner with operations and production teams to embed quality, sanitation, and process control into daily practices

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Agriculture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of quality assurance experience in food, dairy, or agricultural processing environments
  • Proven experience with FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP+, and regulatory inspections or audits
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian food safety regulations and risk-based quality systems
  • Experience in supplier quality management and vendor qualification processes
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Comfortable working in production environments with occasional travel and schedule flexibility
