Job description
What We Are Looking For
Full responsibility and oversight of bulk terminal operations in WI. Position is responsible for all aspects of the terminal including operations, maintenance, customer relationships, P&L, and budgeting. This position will manage operations supervisors, maintenance staff, customer service and operational staff. The position will also work closely with the commercial and finance groups in meeting the objectives of the terminal. The Terminal Manager is a business leader, risk manager and an employee motivator.
Responsibilities:
- Forecast monthly revenue and track with finance and commercial teammates to meet monthly expectations.
- Develop short, medium and long term operational goals to meet regional and corporate goals.
- Develop a safety culture that meets zero injuries and on focuses the teams overall safety.
- Develop KPI's that track the terminals performance using the information to keep all team members abreast of the terminals performance.
- Management of employees including hiring, discipline process, employee performance reviews, the safety of employees and the management of safety programs.
- Participation and assistance in negotiations with customers and service providers to meet the goals of the Terminal.
- Growth and development of business internally and externally with the support of the commercial group.
- Facilitation and development of customer relations and service using a quantitative, quality-based approach.
- Overseeing of service, maintenance and capital assets.
- Stays abreast of changes in working conditions or new technology that could increase the safety and efficiency of the operations.
- Initiates and supports improvement plans for employees to succeed in their efforts to achieve the goals of the department.
- Interprets and sets company policies on worker safety, safety regulations, company policies/procedures and work rules.
- Sets direction to improve handling methods, equipment performance, and quality of product handling.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of terminal.
- Other duties as assigned
What You Will Do
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or other related field required or equivalent experience.* 5-10 years of management experience in an industrial environment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated ability to manage operating procedures, regulatory requirements and customer relations.
- Enforce SQE to meet corporate requirements
- Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations related to bulk products.
- Proven track record of managing a non-union workforce in an industrial setting.
- Project management and financial acumen is required. Prior budgeting experience required.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills required (Microsoft Office products).
- Intermediate to advanced math skills are required.
- The ability to read, interpret and train others on documents such as safety rules operating/maintenance instructions and policies and procedures.
- Develop alternative solutions, resolve problems, manage difficult situation, responds to internal/external requests for information to meet commitments.
- The ability to communicate in a clear and precise manner in written and oral communications with all levels and in various settings.
- The ability to lead, mentor and empower subordinates to safely and effectively manage the operation.
- The ability to manage multiple projects, deliverables and the ability to establish priorities.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
- Successful completion of a drug screen and background check which includes a credit check upon offer.
- 10% travel is required (overnight visits to Chicagoland area)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Indoor and outdoor work is required, including during inclement weather.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
- Must not have a fear of heights.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE (above the minimum requirements; not required, but advantageous in this position)
* Bi-Lingual (English & Spanish)* Conveyor belt/ bagging unit experience
Heavy equipment experience (forklift, front end loader, skid steer)
