Your work environment at EXP


We have an immediate opening for an Intermediate Laboratory Technician to join our Materials Testing group in our Burnaby BC or Calgary, AB office.

What your experience looks like

   Carrying out Marshall and Superpave tests within our Asphalt Laboratory.
   Prepare detailed reports based on laboratory test results.

   Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.

   Ensuring laboratory equipment is maintained in good condition.
   Interacting with Materials and Geotechnical Engineers routinely.
   Operating computerized and digital testing equipment.
   Responsible for MTO and CCIL's Correlation Program.
   Any other materials testing as assigned.

   Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and client groups.

   Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

   Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure.

   Highly organized with strong time management skills.

   Field experience as a Materials Field Technician is considered an asset.

   Completion of, or current enrollment in a recognized Civil Engineering Technology diploma program is considered an asset.

   Valid Canadian driver's license.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

   Minimum 2- 3 years' experience in Asphalt testing Laboratory. 

   Possess a current CCIL Certification is considered as asset 
   Possess a current CCIL Certification for Aggregates is considered as asset.
   Experience with Marshall and Superpave Mix Designs.
   Strong focus on Health and Safety.
   Ability to work overtime in peak periods.
   Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

   Proper Interaction with clients, and contractors to provide excellent services.

The hourly range for this role is between $26 - $28. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
