Reporting to the Manager, Systems and Financial Operations, the Intermediate Accountant is a generalist role responsible for supporting the team as directed by completing accounting processes, reconciliations, reporting and analysis on a monthly and yearly basis

Assignment of responsibilities within the department may include processing, reconciling and analyzing accounts receivables, revenue, inventories and costs for performing arts, e-commerce and any other tasks assigned. Main Duties & Responsibilities Perform reconciliations monthly, GL accounts related to deferred revenue, box office and bar revenue, sponsorships/donations related to the Performance Arts Division (PAD) providing all supporting schedules, preparation of journal entries, and following up on clearing any outstanding items. Verify and analyze the financial information from Spektrix (box office system) monthly to ensure accuracy of the data and upload into the financial system, Microsoft Business Central Collaborates regularly with PAD to record invoices and supervises the completeness of billing done monthly.

Records and reconcile revenue, costs & expenses, A/P & A/R for all RCM performance arts events. Reconcile transactions processed on all e-commerce platforms Shopify on daily, weekly, monthly basis, prepare daily reports for payouts and online sales. Analyze US and Canadian sales taxes and understand the e-commerce challenges related to taxes.

Process and record transactions for customer returns and refunds through online stores and accounting system. Records and reconciles the assigned Bank account transactions related to learning systems by the reporting scheduled due date. Prepare reconciliations of GL accounts for various balance sheet accounts timeously and correct any material misstatements.

Participate in the preparation of annual budget, forecasting, costing analysis and any related ad-hoc reports related to performance arts, learning systems required by the management and other departments. Assists in establishing the standard processes and reports, investigate issues to find solutions for better efficiency across the group. Assesses current processes and procedures, identifies gaps, and recommends measures to ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and are adhered to.

Participates in interim and year-end audits. With direction from the direct supervisor, works with auditors in respect to providing required documents and schedules. Works with other team members, participates in projects and helps in providing support cross departmental questions and queries without allowing items to slip through the cracks.

Performs other duties as assigned.What We're Looking For Post-Secondary education in either Accounting, Finance and or Business Administration, with a minimum of 2 years of full-cycle accounting/reporting experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Enrolled in recognized accounting program and actively pursuing designation. Capable of handling large amounts of information and managing expectations
