As a Principal Process Chemical Engineer, you will:
  • Develop new and redline existing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and Interlock Narratives
  • Lead chemical engineering efforts on assigned modernization capital projects
  • Be an active team member on a cross functional project team
  • Support Process Hazard Analyses for new processes
  • Troubleshoot process, instrumentation and equipment problems to support project startup
  • Develop Process Flow Diagrams and Heat and Material Balances
  • Lead various calculations for process design (i.e. relief, pump sizing, and heat transfer)
  • Develop cost estimates and scope of work for capital projects.
  • Provide field support for I/O, interlock checkout, & startup commissioning activities
  • Write, maintain, and update necessary procedures and assist with training operators when needed
  • Mentor junior Process Chemical Engineers
  • This role requires regular presence in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. The incumbent must be able to access and safely navigate production areas which may include climbing, kneeling, stooping, and working in confined spaces. Must also be able to comply with all requirements including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policy.

Required Skills and Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from ABET Accredited University Program
  • 6+ years relevant experience. We may consider candidates with fewer years of experience for a more junior role or additional experience for a more senior role.
  • Process Flow Diagram development
  • Heat and Material Balance development
  • Experience in Process Chemical Design
  • Piping and Instrumentation Diagram development (P&ID)
  • Hazard Analysis experience - PHA, HAZOP, FMEA, etc.
  • Ability to work on shift and/or be on-call on occasion when project requires it #LI-Onsite #LI-JR1
