Job description

Field Superintendent
Turtle Creek Management (TCM) / Jackson's Realty & Builders (JRB)
Locations: Indianapolis & Terre Haute, Indiana
Build Senior Living Communities That Make a Lasting Impact
For more than 60 years, Turtle Creek Management (TCM) has transformed communities through exceptional development and construction. Founded in 1962, we are a second-generation, family-owned company built on integrity, quality craftsmanship, accountability, and long-term relationships.
Through our construction division, Jackson's Realty & Builders (JRB), we provide full-service development, construction management, design-build, and general contracting services. Our work includes assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, senior living campuses, medical facilities, multifamily communities, self-storage, commercial projects, and related site infrastructure.
Because the majority of our work supports companies within our own organization, we build with an owner's mindset. We are not simply focused on completing the next project; we are creating facilities that will serve residents, families, and care teams for years to come.
The Opportunity
Jackson's Realty & Builders is seeking an experienced, hands-on Field Superintendent to lead ground-up and renovation projects throughout Indianapolis and surrounding communities. Periodic travel within Indiana may be required based on project needs.
This role is ideal for a superintendent with strong wood-frame construction experience who can confidently lead all field operations on predominantly single-story, and occasionally two-story, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, senior living, and related healthcare projects.
You will serve as the day-to-day field leader responsible for safely delivering high-quality projects on schedule, coordinating all trades, driving accountability, and resolving problems before they affect budget, schedule, quality, or facility operations.
What You'll Do
  • Lead and manage all on-site construction activities from mobilization through final completion.
  • Oversee ground-up construction, site work, demolition, excavation, utilities, grading, concrete, foundations, framing, roofing, exterior finishes, drywall, insulation, interior finishes, and project closeout.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, utility providers, consultants, and internal project team members.
  • Develop and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules, manage trade sequencing, and keep work progressing efficiently.
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and project documents to identify constructability concerns, scope gaps, and field conflicts early.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, applicable building codes, fire and life-safety requirements, and company quality standards.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized jobsite and enforce OSHA requirements and company safety expectations.
  • Lead daily site coordination, subcontractor meetings, safety meetings, and quality-control walkthroughs.
  • Track material deliveries, equipment needs, manpower, field productivity, inspections, and punch-list progress.
  • Coordinate and prepare for applicable municipal, building, health department, fire marshal, and life-safety inspections.
  • Identify field conditions, scope gaps, and potential change-order items; communicate issues promptly to the Project Manager.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, photos, field documentation, inspection records, and project communications.
  • Lead punch-list completion, commissioning coordination, turnover activities, and final project closeout.
  • Represent JRB and TCM professionally with subcontractors, consultants, ownership teams, facility personnel, and local authorities.

What You Bring
  • Five or more years of experience as a Construction Superintendent, Field Superintendent, Lead Carpenter, or similar field leadership role.
  • Strong experience managing commercial, senior living, healthcare, multifamily, hospitality, or light commercial construction projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of wood-frame and stick-built construction, including foundations, framing, building envelope, roofing, interiors, and finish work.
  • Working knowledge of site development, excavation, utilities, concrete, and civil coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, shop drawings, and technical documents.
  • Proven ability to lead subcontractors, maintain accountability, and create a productive, professional jobsite culture.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, site logistics, quality control, and safety management.
  • Comfort using smartphones, tablets, email, project-management software, digital plans, and photo documentation tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating closely with Project Managers and company leadership.
  • Experience in assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, healthcare, or occupied-facility construction is strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Indiana as project needs require.

Why Join Turtle Creek Management and Jackson's Realty & Builders?
  • Build projects that directly improve the lives of seniors, families, and care providers.
  • Work for a respected, family-owned organization with more than six decades of success.
  • Join a stable company that develops, owns, and builds many of its own facilities.
  • Take ownership of projects from the ground up and see your leadership make a visible difference.
  • Work alongside experienced development, construction, and operations professionals.
  • Be part of a team that values integrity, craftsmanship, accountability, teamwork, and long-term relationships.

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with the candidate's experience, qualifications, leadership ability, and the value they bring to the role.
Jackson's Realty & Builders offers a benefits package that includes (but not limited to):
  • Health insurance benefits
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Paid time off (PTO)
  • Performance-based bonus opportunity
  • Continuing education
  • Opportunity for long-term growth within a stable, family-owned development and construction organization

If you are a field-focused construction leader who takes pride in building quality projects, leading subcontractors, solving problems, and delivering facilities that truly matter, we invite you to apply for the Field Superintendent position with Jackson's Realty & Builders.
