Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Project Supervisor to oversee all aspects of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of seven years of construction superintendent experience, possess exceptional communication skills, and have a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Subcontractor Management: Supervise and evaluate subcontractors, addressing performance issues promptly.

  • Project Scheduling: Maintain and update project schedules using Smartsheet or similar software.

  • Budget Adherence: Monitor project expenditures, identify variances, implement corrective actions, and manage RFIs to stay within budget.

  • Project Goals: Enforce safety standards, coordinate with staff and subcontractors, resolve issues, and assist with change orders to achieve project objectives.

  • Safety Compliance: Create and maintain a safe work environment by following legal regulations, conducting weekly safety meetings, and enforcing safety protocols.

  • Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on emerging construction practices and standards to continuously improve job performance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years in supervising tenant improvement and ground-up commercial and residential construction projects.

  • Residential Construction: Prior experience in residential construction is essential.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Procore, and Smartsheet.

  • Familiarity with RFIs, Daily Reports, Submittals, and other construction-related documentation.

  • Construction Knowledge: Strong understanding of all construction phases from grading to interior finishes.

  • Ability to perform quantity surveys from plans is a plus, along with an understanding of basic estimating formats and cost centers.

  • Certifications: OSHA certifications and/or first aid and CPR training are beneficial but not required; training will be provided.

  • Location: Must be located in Ventura or Santa Barbara Counties and be willing to commute to various job sites within these counties.
