The position will assist in preparing architectural designs and construction documents and serve as a bridge between the firms design and construction documentation functions.
The Successful Candidate:
If you are looking for an exciting new place to grow, HBG Design is seeking an experienced Interior Technical Designer with the ability to be a self-starter and to build upon skills by seeking out responsibilities and learning from past experiences, mistakes, and exposure to other team members. This position requires a specialized understanding of building materials, construction methods and costs, and the ability to interact and appropriately apply building codes and regulations. The successful candidate will also possess high level analytical and problem-solving skills.
Position Responsibilities:
Work closely with project teams to translate design concepts into cost-effective and innovative building design solutions by applying knowledge of materials, finishes, and construction methods.
Utilize Revit technology to assist in transforming designs and sketches into 3D models and construction documents, while meeting established deadlines and project budgets.
Assist in researching and interpreting architectural systems/materials and all applicable codes and regulations to determine and inform appropriate design solutions, as directed by the Interior Project Architect and Senior Interior Designer.
Aid in documenting and maintaining project design files, to include all design decisions pertaining to material selection and construction methods.
Participate in consult coordination meetings under the direction of the Interior Project Architect, Senior Interior Designer, and Project Manager.
Assist the Project Architect and Interior Project Architect in submittal reviews, RFIs, and ASIs, as needed.
Qualifications:
Six (6) years minimum practical experience in documentation and architectural design.
Bachelors degree from an architectural or interior design school/program.
In process of acquiring AXP hours with intention to pursue exams and licensure.
Ability to assist a team in the documentation and/or design of a project.
Fully competent in all aspects of interior architecture and thorough understanding of the construction process, techniques, materials, and standards.
Good communication skills and desire to improve the capabilities of other team members.
Proficiency in Revit, Sketch-up, Photoshop, and Microsoft Suite.
The Compensation:
$70,000 - $100,000 per year.
Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, regional cost of living, experience, and qualifications.
