Job description

Job Title: Interior Designer – Multi-Family Residential

Location: Surrey, BC | Office-Based

Industry: Real Estate Development / Construction

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Company: Confidential Client

Salary Range: $80,000 – $100,000

About the Role

We are representing a well-established and growing real estate developer with a strong portfolio of multi-family residential projects across the Fraser Valley. Our client is seeking a motivated and design-driven Interior Designer to join their in-house team.

This role is ideal for someone with several years of experience who has been involved in multi-family projects from start to finish and is looking to grow within a fast-paced development environment. Beyond technical ability, the company is looking for someone with strong personality, confidence, and passion for design — someone who can confidently present, defend, and communicate ideas in collaborative and high-level meetings.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal leadership, consultants, and project teams to support the design and delivery of residential communities.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Supporting the interior design process across multi-family residential projects from concept through completion.

Preparing and coordinating drawing packages, specifications, and design documentation.

Collaborating with internal development, construction, and consultant teams throughout project delivery.

Participating in design meetings and presenting design concepts and ideas confidently.

Selecting and coordinating finishes, materials, colour palettes, and interior details.

Reviewing plans and ensuring design intent aligns with project objectives and construction requirements.

Supporting project coordination throughout construction and assisting with site-related design reviews.

Working closely with leadership and stakeholders to refine and execute design vision.

Contributing creative ideas and helping maintain a strong design standard across projects.

What We’re Looking For

3–7 years of experience in an Interior Designer role within multi-family residential projects.

Experience seeing at least one residential project through from design to completion.

Background working with either a developer/builder or architectural/design firm.

Strong technical understanding of drafting, drawing production, and construction coordination.

Wood frame construction experience is considered a strong asset.

Passionate, confident, and enthusiastic personality with strong communication skills.

Comfortable presenting ideas and contributing in collaborative boardroom and leadership discussions.

Ability to defend and explain design decisions professionally and confidently.

Self-motivated, driven, and eager to grow within a fast-paced development environment.

Preference for candidates based locally within Surrey or the Fraser Valley.

Why This Opportunity

Opportunity to join a respected and growing real estate developer with a strong pipeline of residential projects.

Work closely with experienced leadership and gain exposure across the full development and construction process.

Fast-paced and collaborative environment with strong long-term growth potential.

Opportunity to have a direct impact on the design and delivery of award-winning communities.

Competitive compensation package with long-term career progression opportunities.
