Position: Senior Designer

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Our architects pursue design excellence with a desire to improve the interactions we have with each other and our built environment. We are ranked as the fifth-largest architectural firm in the greater Indianapolis area. Our Architecture Group includes almost 30 distinguished architects, interior designers, planners, graphic designers, and LEED-accredited professionals with direct access to our more than 700 professionals across 11 disciplines.

Our collaborative design approach brings to light creative solutions to complex challenges, while balancing social, environmental, and economic realities. We orchestrate the design process with a full range of services, from programming and concept design, through architecture, interior and graphic design, and construction administration services.


The Senior Designer leads design efforts from concept through design development, ensuring project vision, technical integrity, and client satisfaction. This role guides teams, mentors emerging designers, and collaborates with project managers and principals to deliver compelling, buildable solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong creative leadership with advanced technical knowledge and excels at driving multidisciplinary coordination.

  • Lead design strategy, concept development, and iteration, aligning with client goals, budgets, and schedules.
  • Direct the production of drawings, models, and presentations; set and uphold design quality standards.
  • Conduct and document code research; ensure design compliance with life safety and accessibility.
  • Develop key details, material strategies, and performance objectives in collaboration with consultants.
  • Facilitate design charrettes, user-workshops, and internal critiques; provide timely feedback to teams.
  • Present design solutions to clients and stakeholders; incorporate feedback into deliverables.
  • Support early cost modeling and value engineering while preserving design intent.
  • Mentor junior staff in design thinking, documentation, and professional practice.
  • Contribute to pursuits and thought leadership, including case studies and design narratives.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture required; Master’s preferred
  • 10+ years of professional experience with a portfolio demonstrating complex project work
  • Progress toward architectural licensure or registration preferred.
  • Expert proficiency in Revit
  • Strong skills in SketchUp/Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with visualization tools (Enscape/Lumion/V-Ray) and diagrammatic storytelling
  • Knowledge of building systems, codes, and detailing; ability to lead coordination with consultants
  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks (LEED/WELL/Green Globes) a plus
