Job description

MINISO USA is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Interior Designer to support the design, planning, and execution of new store openings, remodels, and special retail projects across the United States. This role is responsible for translating the MINISO global brand standards into functional, customer-focused retail environments while ensuring compliance with U.S. building codes, landlord requirements, and project schedules.


  • Develop interior design packages for new stores, remodels, and relocations.
  • Prepare schematic layouts, floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, fixture layouts, finish schedules, and construction details.
  • Adapt global design standards to meet local building codes, ADA requirements, and landlord design criteria.
  • Coordinate with architects, MEP consultants, contractors, fixture vendors, and landlords throughout the design and construction process.
  • Review landlord design criteria and prepare drawing submissions for approvals.
  • Produce presentation materials, renderings, and 3D visualizations for internal review and executive presentations.
  • Conduct site surveys and verify existing conditions before design development.
  • Review shop drawings, material samples, and fixture prototypes to ensure design intent is maintained.
  • Support value engineering efforts while maintaining brand aesthetics and functionality.
  • Participate in construction meetings and perform site visits to monitor design implementation.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining MINISO USA design standards, prototype stores, and fixture libraries.
  • Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables while flagging risks and coordinating adjustments.
  • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while meeting aggressive development schedules.
  • Act as a point of contact between internal teams, landlords, general contractors, and external vendors, translating technical needs and resolving issues promptly.
  • Provide support in sourcing, vendor coordination, and site preparation when needed.

  • Experience designing retail stores, shopping center locations, or chain store rollouts is preferred.
  • Knowledge of U.S. building codes, ADA requirements, life safety codes, and permitting processes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required.
  • Experience with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with Enscape, Lumion, or other rendering software is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of retail fixtures, millwork, materials, and construction documentation.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically for site visits and store openings (approximately 10–25%).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • 2-5+ years of commercial retail interior design experience.
