Interior Designer
Location: Farmington Hills or Grand Rapids, MI
Employment Type: Full-Time
For over 70 years Fishbeck has been building. As a 100% employee-owned firm, every team member has a stake in what we build together—our work, our reputation, and our future. Now we need to add an Interior Designer to help us keep building.
Working with our Architectural team, you will work on design concepts and interior space planning, as well as conducting material and product research for interior application. You will also coordinate with clients and vendors while collaborating with multidisciplinary professionals on relevant projects.
What You’ll Do
  • Develop and communicate design concepts and interior space planning.
  • Conduct material and product research for interior applications.
  • Translate design intent into construction documents and specifications.
  • Select and specify furniture, finishes, and fixtures.
  • Prepare finish boards, renderings, and other presentation materials.
  • Coordinate with clients and vendors throughout the design process.
  • Collaborate with project architects, engineers, and consultants.
  • Stay current with market trends, design innovations, and product offerings.
What We’re Looking For
  • 7+ years of experience in an architecture/engineering (AE) firm or similar setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from an accredited program.
  • Prior experience in healthcare is highly desirable.
  • NCIDQ certification or on track to obtain certification.
  • Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with rendering software such as Enscape is a plus.
  • Strong graphic, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, collaborative, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to manage and execute interior design scope through all project phases.
