Job Description
FCA is seeking a creative and motivated Staff Interior Designer to join our collaborative, design-focused team. This opportunity is ideal for an individual who brings curiosity, strong design sensibility, and a passion for creating impactful environments across a variety of sectors, including Corporate and Higher Education. The successful candidate will contribute fresh ideas, work closely with experienced design professionals, and help shape spaces that are innovative, functional, and engaging.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Partners with Project and Senior Interior Designers to develop thoughtful and innovative design solutions
  • Contributes to projects across multiple market sectors, including Corporate and Higher Education
  • Demonstrates proficiency in design software utilized for drafting, visualization, and presentations
  • Researches and selects materials, finishes, furnishings, and color palettes that align with project goals
  • Assists in the preparation of design documentation and presentation materials, including furniture specifications, finish boards, and client presentations
  • Supports business development and marketing initiatives through the creation of presentation and proposal materials
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with clients, consultants, and project team members
  • Applies and researches applicable building codes, accessibility standards, and technical requirements
  • Participates actively in internal design discussions, coordination meetings, and project collaboration

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from an accredited program; progress toward NCIDQ certification preferred
  • 5-7 years of professional interior design experience, including exposure to Corporate, Higher Education and/or other projects
  • Can be local to New Haven or to Manhattan, NY
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and 3ds Max
  • Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to think critically and exercise sound independent judgment
  • Collaborative mindset with confidence contributing ideas in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with a passion for thoughtful, creative design
