Job description

Our Company

For over 30 years, All American Marine (AAM) has set the standard in custom aluminum vessel manufacturing, delivering innovative marine solutions tailored to meet the most demanding needs. Located in the maritime hub of Bellingham, WA, AAM specializes in designing and building advanced, fuel-efficient boats for commercial, research, and passenger transportation.

Role Scope

As an Marine Systems Drafter/Designer, you will support the efficient construction of custom aluminum vessels by developing 2D and 3D CAD drawings, document plans, and designs in conjunction with the Project Engineering Coordinator for the practical installation of various mechanical, electrical and interior systems. Drawings, plans, and specifications are subject to approval by the professional Naval Architect/Engineer, the USCG, as well as the customer. 
Key responsibilities include develop and outline of mechanical, electrical, and interior system plans/drawings/and design, provide technical drawings where needed, provide technical assistance, take and organize final capture photos for vessel build archives, assist USCG or other regulatory agency monitoring or compliance functions.

Required qualifications/skills:

- Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills

- Intermediate to advance proficiency in AutoCAD design and drafting, and 3-D modeling (preferably Rhino)

- Ability to manage deadlines and effectively communicate the completion status of multiple tasks.

- Intermediate to advance proficiency level of Microsoft Office programs.

- Ability to climb stairs and ladders, work at heights, and work in confined spaces.

- Is collaborative, flexible, and adaptable, working in a fluid production environment

Preferred, but not required:

- Boat building and/or marine construction experience

- Thorough knowledge of marine mechanics, outfitting, and electrical applications

- Knowledge of USCG standards and Code of Federal Regulations

- Knowledge of ABYC electrical standards

- Working knowledge of design/programming vessel monitoring and alarm systems

- Knowledge of PLC programming, ladder logic.

- Instrumentation experience - calibration and troubleshooting of vessel electronics

Compensation & Coverage

Pay Details: $26.00/hour to $35.00/hour depending on experience.
