Stantec Architecture & Interior Design in Boston
Your Opportunity: We are seeking a talented and motivated Interior Designer to join our Bosotn office. The primary role of the Mid-level Interior Designer is to interpret and translate the needs and desires of a client as well as any architectural direction set forth into a cohesive interior design solution with moderate guidance and supervision. This role requires the production of drawings (2D/3D) and written material to support the conceptual direction of interior design and FFE. This individual may be required to present their ideas in formal and informal settings with a willingness and desire to hear and respond to constructive feedback. An individual at this level in their career is expected to perform their role within the standard of care acceptable to their peers in the industry. A Mid-level Interior Designer is expected to work collaboratively with the architectural team, conceptualizing, developing, and documenting varying aspects of the interior design of a project, including but not limited to space planning, interior architecture, interior materials and palette, specifications, FFE and construction phase services. This is a hybrid role expected to be in the office minimum 24 hours a week.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, schematic design, design development, construction documents and construction administration.
  • Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and other vendors to meet overall project objectives and ensure the incorporation of design intent.
  • Collaborate with design team to develop finish palettes, furniture packages, and presentation materials for client and internal review
  • Produce design and construction drawings.
  • Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Works closely with delivery team and assists with completing projects to meet the client's established schedule.
  • Develop material palette and perform product research; assist project designers and project architects with materials selection and system research.
  • Strong rendering and presentation skills preferred.
  • Advocate for design excellence and creativity within the practice of interior design, through the lens of sustainable practices.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams and coordinate work with consultants, vendors and other partners.
  • Investigate processes and technology to improve efficiency.
  • Follow established standards, policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Comply with professional ethical standards and codes.

  • Excellent graphic, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
