Position Summary:
The Marketing & Interior Designer is a creative, detail-oriented professional responsible for delivering exceptional interior design experiences while supporting and strengthening the Gabor Design Build brand through strategic marketing and creative communications. This position combines residential interior design expertise with hands-on marketing responsibilities, providing an opportunity to shape beautiful, functional spaces while helping tell the Gabor Design Build story. The ideal candidate is passionate about interior design, cabinetry, remodeling, and marketing; has a strong eye for detail and aesthetics; and is energized by collaborating with clients, designers, production professionals, and other members of the Gabor Design Build team. This individual should be proactive, organized, creative, and committed to continuous improvement, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Interior Design:
  • Collaborate with clients and the design team to understand project scope, vision, functional requirements, aesthetic preferences, and established budgets.
  • Develop thoughtful and creative interior design solutions for kitchens, bathrooms, and whole-home remodeling projects.
  • Manage the client selection process, ensuring all selections meet functional and aesthetic needs while aligning with project scope and budget.
  • Create accurate and detailed floor plans, elevations, 3D renderings, design boards, and other presentation materials for client meetings.
  • Conduct professional design presentations and effectively communicate design concepts, selections, and recommendations to clients.
  • Work with a variety of cabinetry lines, including stock, semi-custom, and custom cabinetry, to select appropriate styles, sizes, finishes, features, accessories, and filler requirements.
  • Calculate material quantities, obtain pricing, and accurately enter and maintain project pricing information.
  • Coordinate ordering of finished products and materials based on approved client selections.
  • Review selections and design details for accuracy, completeness, functionality, and alignment with project scope.
  • Communicate regularly with clients and internal teams through clear and timely verbal and written updates.
  • Participate in project and design team meetings and collaborate with production, procurement, architectural design, and other departments to support successful project execution.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, architectural plans, and structural drawings.
  • Maintain knowledge of residential remodeling practices, products, materials, finishes, cabinetry, and current design trends.
  • Stay informed on industry guidelines and codes that impact kitchen, bath, and residential interior design.
  • Address client concerns related to design and selections and work collaboratively with the team to resolve issues.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining deadlines, accuracy, organization, and a high level of client service.
  • Assist with the ongoing development and presentation of the GDB showroom, including displays, product selections, and design inspiration.
  • Identify opportunities to improve design processes, client experiences, and internal workflows.

Marketing Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and execution of GDB's annual marketing plan, objectives, and initiatives.
  • Develop and execute marketing communications for residential remodeling audiences across digital and print platforms.
  • Maintain a marketing calendar for general communications, campaigns, events, and ongoing brand messaging.
  • Design, write, proofread, and/or copyedit marketing, promotional, and internal communications.
  • Create and manage content for email, print, blog, website, and social media while maintaining an organized content library.
  • Manage social media content across channels including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, including posts, stories, highlights, videos, hashtags, and analytics.
  • Create compelling visual and written content that showcases GDB's projects, design expertise, team, showroom, and brand.
  • Coordinate photography, project imagery, before-and-after content, design features, and other visual assets for marketing purposes.
  • Monitor and report on marketing activities, engagement, and effectiveness.
  • Develop internal staff presentations and supporting visual materials, including PowerPoint presentations.
  • Maintain website content and coordinate with outside website developers or vendors as needed.
  • Provide creative direction and develop communications that follow established GDB brand standards, messaging, and voice.
  • Maintain consistency of the GDB brand across marketing materials, social media, website, showroom, and other customer-facing communications.
  • Proactively identify new and creative opportunities to increase brand awareness and communicate GDB's design-build expertise.
  • Collaborate with the design and project teams to identify completed projects, design trends, client experiences, and other opportunities that can be translated into compelling marketing content.
  • Represent GDB professionally and help communicate the company's mission, vision, values, and brand.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Emphasis in Kitchen and Bath Design is a plus.
  • 3-8 years of experience in interior design; residential remodeling and cabinetry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen and bath products, materials, finishes, and cabinetry.
  • Strong understanding of residential interior design principles, space planning, color, materials, and finish selections.
  • Proficiency in 2020 Design Live; experience with AutoCAD, Smartsheet, Buildertrend, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar software is a plus.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong written, verbal, visual, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to create compelling and professional written and visual marketing content.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural plans, and structural drawings.
  • Knowledge of construction management processes and residential remodeling is a plus.
  • Understanding of industry guidelines and codes affecting kitchen, bath, and residential design.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, follow-through, and accountability.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, designers, tradespeople, vendors, and internal departments.
