Position Summary

Morris Adjmi Architects is seeking a talented Interior Designer II / Interior Architect II to join our growing Interiors team. This role is ideal for an experienced designer who enjoys balancing design creativity with technical execution across a diverse portfolio of projects.

Working closely with senior design leadership, you will contribute throughout the full project lifecycle—from concept development and client presentations through construction documentation and construction administration. The successful candidate is a collaborative professional with strong design sensibilities, excellent technical production skills, and experience coordinating consultants, vendors, and project documentation. Licensed Interior Architects are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

As an Interior Designer II / Interior Architect II, you will:

  • Participate in all phases of interior design projects, from conceptual design through construction administration.
  • Develop design concepts, space planning solutions, material palettes, and FF&E selections.
  • Prepare client presentations, renderings, finish boards, and presentation materials.
  • Produce and coordinate design development and construction documentation with increasing independence.
  • Develop finish, fixture, appliance, plumbing fixture, and door hardware schedules.
  • Coordinate drawings with architecture, engineering consultants, vendors, and manufacturers.
  • Manage BIM coordination with project consultants.
  • Assist in preparing project specifications and reviewing consultant documentation.
  • Review drawings for quality, accuracy, and compliance with MA presentation standards.
  • Participate in client meetings, consultant coordination meetings, and internal project reviews.
  • Assist with RFIs, submittals, shop drawing reviews, punch lists, and other construction administration activities.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers while contributing to a collaborative studio environment.
Qualifications
  • Professional degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
  • 6+ years of professional interior design experience.
  • Architecture license required for candidates applying as an Interior Architect II.
  • NCIDQ, AIA, LEED, or other professional accreditation preferred.
  • Strong understanding of all project phases, including construction documentation and coordination.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, and BIM workflows.
  • Experience coordinating consultants, vendors, and contractors.
  • Exceptional organization, communication, and presentation skills.
