JOB SUMMARY

The flooring technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of flooring materials in residential or commercial settings. Their duties may include measuring and preparing the installation area, removing old flooring, leveling the subfloor, and cutting and fitting the flooring materials. They may also be responsible for applying adhesives, nailing or stapling the flooring, and ensuring proper alignment and finishing.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assist Field Team

Service

  • Complete assigned service tickets as scheduled
  • Report any issues or delays to the Warranty Team

Quality

  • Aid in monitoring job quality while completing services
  • Address quality concerns and report issues to the Warranty Management team

Job Readiness

  • Ensure materials are available to complete tasks, including but not limited to screws, caulk, stock materiel, saw, drill, batteries, and tools. Transition installations/replacement, minor tile replacement/ installation, grout touchups/ maintenance, caulking, cut/tuck/stretch/seam carpet, patch linoleum, hard surface plank replacement/repair
  • Tools to be familiar with: wet saw, angle grinder, power stretcher, knee kicker, tape measure, hammer, rubber mallet, chop saw, electric staple gun, straight edge
  • Familiar concepts: thin set/ grout applications, carpet installation, trowels, appropriate glue selections/applications 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
