Job description

An award-winning residential interior design firm specializing in the Western region is looking for an Interior Designer to join their Bozeman, MT office. The ideal candidate is a self-driven, creative, solutions-focused professional with experience in luxury interior design, motivated to move their career forward while delivering thoughtful, innovative design solutions. A minimum of 2 years as a Designer in an ID firm required as well as proficiency in Revit.

Just as important, the firm believes great design comes from a well-supported team, and prioritizes flexibility, trust and a healthy work- life balance.

A bit about the opportunity:

Management and Supervision:

• • Collaborate with Principal and Senior Designers on assigned projects and manage the execution of project specifications with support staff of company and subcontractors.

• • Interface with vendors and subcontractors as necessary to coordinate production and project schedules. Prepare any necessary Materials Specifications and Room Finish Schedules to facilitate coordination of project.

• • Manage Job-site labor workforce as necessary which includes Company employees as well as Subcontractors.

Design and Drafting:

• • Design, specify, draft and integrate all elements of interior design and architecture including, but not limited to, furniture plans, architectural details including ceilings, walls, floors, window heights, columns, millwork and other built-ins, kitchens and bathrooms and other construction documents. Must be Revit proficient.

• • Design, specify, and draft custom furniture as required. Obtain necessary subcontractor quotes for said furniture.

• • Select and specify all interior finishes: Plumbing, appliances, countertops, flooring, decorative lighting, hardware, shower enclosures, tile and slab details and cabinetry.

• • Specify fabrics, floor coverings, wall coverings, lighting, window treatments, furniture and any other items as necessary per project requirements. Serve as project lead or collaborate with Principal as appropriate on project.

• • Research and shop as necessary for project components. Develop conceptual designs, create mock-ups and complete with drawings and renderings as necessary.

• • Rendering proficiency, a plus!

• • Work well with the team!

Project Management:

• • Review complete project documentation to determine full scope of work, completion of schedules, and any other relevant items. Confer with Principal for clarification, as necessary.

• • Maintain continual two-way communication with Principal and project team regarding project and Client details. Keep all interested parties apprised of significant events.

• • Identify, receive and document problems. Consult with Principal on solutions, handle and follow-up. Review problem status reports for Principal and/or Client as necessary.

• • Meet and communicate with Clients as necessary to complete project components.

• • Visit job site as needed.

• • Travel as necessary to complete project tasks.

• • Prepare presentations required to disseminate selections to client.

• • Serve as liaison with vendors to provide direction and/or to obtain pertinent information in order to create detailed quotes for the purchasing team to create proposals.
